Random Maisey Pictures

This is the way we brush our teeth, brush our teeth, brush our teeth. This is the way we brush our teeth, Brushy, Brushy, Brushy!

Maisey also got her hair done in her first full pony tail. It was pretty thin, but she loved it! This is the front. . .

. . . and the side view!

She also LOVES to play with her farm house! And you can definitly tell she is my daughter, because when it is time to clean up she has to organize the animals and put them in the right places. She puts the pigs together, the sheep together, the cows together, and the 2 randoms together in each of the 4 stalls. The rooster and the chicken on the top and the dog in the back of the tractor. I tried to get a picture of it but it didn't turn out that great!

Maisey Moments

* The other night we were having Orange Chicken for dinner. (Yes, I have actually been making dinner this week! YAY!!!) Maisey looked at her chicken on her plate and said to me, "Mommy, I eating Ming Ming for dinner!" She was so serious.
For those of you who don't know, Ming Ming is the duckling on Wonder Pets.

*Last night we sat down for dinner, and Maisey said the prayer. She kept praying for Kelsey and Kelsey's wedding!

By the way. . . Did I mention my sister Kelsey is getting married? Nov. 21!!! It's coming right up!

Gage is 5 Months!

I can't believe another month has gone by! In the big picture it seems like it's going by so fast, but from day to day, sometimes it feels like it is crawling along!!!

We are still seeing some small improvements here and there, but he has regressed quite a bit in the sleeping category, which makes for a tired and grumpy mommy! (Maybe it's teething, Jenny! :))

--- At 5 months, Gage likes ---
- His Bumbo
- His Exersaucer
- His rice cereal (we just started it a few days ago and he LOVES it!)
- Watching the news in the morning (he must be my baby!)
- His fuzzy blanket that gets all over our clothes, but he loves it so we let him have it anyway.
- To watch the BYU Cougars, but only when they win!
- To eat every 2 hours and 55 min. He gets so fussy right before the 3 hour mark.
--- At 5 months, Gage does not like ---
- To sleep! He is king of the 20 minute naps, and is now waking up on average 4 times a night. :(
- To watch the BYU Cougars lose.
- Loud noises or voices
- When he can't see mommy
Here are a few pictures from this last week!
He sure is cute, even if he in a very needy baby!

This is Gage's first time with the rice cereal! Maisey loves to be right up on my lap "helping"!!!

Fall is Here . . .

. . . and that means lots of changes! Changes in scenery, in colors, and in our family!!!

I love fall because I love stepping on the crunchy leaves on the ground, and I love wearing fall colors, and because it means that all of the fun holidays are just around the corner!

As we begin fall this year, Shaun will also be starting ANOTHER job! Who would have ever thought that he would have had 3 jobs in 7 months! This time it is by our choice!

A really great company called Shaun up one afternoon in July and asked if he was interested in a position that they had open. At first Shaun said no because he already had a pretty decent job and he was happy. But after he thought about it more, he decided he might as well apply for it. So he did and after 4 rounds of interviews over 2 months, lots of thought and prayer, fasting, and temple attendance, we've decided that this new job will be the best thing for our family in the long run!

Shaun's really excited about it because it is more along the lines of his career goals! It is going to be an awesome opportunity for our family and we are so thankful to Heavenly Father for being mindful of our needs and watching over our family!

Here are a few pictures to document a few other changes going on!

Maisey has started wearing big girl undies when she is at home and we don't have a lot going on! She still wets in them, but is getting better everyday! My goal is to stop buying diapers for her by the end of the year! That means I only have 3 more months!!!!!

It's also started getting cooler here (well except for today--it's 93 today), which means FALL CLOTHES!!!! YAY! There is just something exciting about breaking out the footie jammies, jeans, and sweaters!

Happy Fall to All!!!!

Bratwurst + Kraut + Fun = Oktoberfest

On Saturday, we headed out to Mt. Angel to attend the annual Oktoberfest!
Grandma, Uncle Scott, and the Hoopes joined us!
We all had some yummy lunch then headed to the kid section to spend the rest of the afternoon! Maisey loves the inflatable jump houses!

They look like they are having a serious conversation!

Maisey's first pony ride

She didn't let go of me the whole time, but at least she was brave enough to try it!
At the Tulip festival in April, she wouldn't even get close to them!

We had a great time, and my mouth will be watering til next September when I can get my bratwurst with kraut again!

Why??????

WHY was Maisey so cranky at
gymnastics this morning?
WHY did I have to back my car into a pole today?
WHY did Maisey never fall asleep
during nap time today?
AND. . .
WHY the crap did BYU lose so badly?
*
It was just a rough day all around!
*
Here's to a better day tomorrow!

My Life Long Dream

And I WILL be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always wanted to be on Wheel of Fortune, and last year I signed up to be a member of the wheel watcher's club! I know, you all probably think I am so lame! Well, tonight, Maisey and I were watching and there was an ad saying they will be at the coast next weekend! So I am going! I'm not quite sure what it all entails, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wish me luck!

I am SO SO SO excited!!!

Gymnastics

Maisey had her first gymnastics class on Saturday! She was SO excited for it and she didn't even really know what it was! I think she was just excited because she could tell mommy was excited!

About ready to walk out the door!

Porter and Maisey

She was quite the little poser!

Balance Beam
Jumping through hoops

Cheesin' it up!
Maisey still has a little bit of stranger anxiety and shyness when she's around people she doesn't know! So I wasn't quite sure how this was going to go, but she did WAY better than I could have expected! It was so funny to watch a bunch of toddlers run around and try to follow the teacher's directions! Teacher Ann is really good for the kids! She is very patient and knows how to just go with the flow! Maisey definitely loved her first day, and can't wait to go back next Saturday!

Oregon State Fair

On Labor Day we headed to the Oregon State Fair! I wasn't too sure about going this year with the kids, but my mom really wanted to, and it actually turned out really well! Our kids were AWESOME for the most part!

Maisey had never been to a fair before and so she didn't really know what it was. So I just told her it was like a really big outside party! She was SO excited and kept asking me all morning, "Mommy, when we go party?"
Maisey LOVED the animals! Especially the bunnies, and the cows!

With Grammy's help she was even brave enough to pet the live animals at the petting zoo!

She rode around on the tractor!
By the end the kids were EXHAUSTED! (So was I!)

Gage konked out in the stroller. . .

. . . and Maisey in the front pack!
(Yes, I know she looks huge in there, but Gage was already sleeping in the stroller and she was tired! Who wants to carry a 2 yr. old around?)
Thanks Grammy for a fun day at the fair!

Maisey Moment

I was sitting on the couch last night and Maisey came up to me and crumbled up a piece of paper and shoved it in her mouth. I asked her what she was doing and she said, "I Cookie Monster!"
She's really into role playing right now.
She also screams really loud and says "I Hudson!" (Our friend Hudson has quite the squeal!)

Oregon's 2nd Biggest Attraction

The Woodburn Outlet Mall is Oregon's 2nd biggest attraction, behind the coast. Good thing we only live 5 minutes from it!Good for the soul, not good on the budget!

2 yr. old photo shoot

I took Maisey's 2 yr. old pics 2 weeks ago! I'm pretty sure this was one of our best! Probably because I bribed her the whole time, "Just a few more pictures, then you can go swing!"

I fully support child bribery!

LOVE HER!
