Miley in October

Do you think she looks innocent?

She was loving on this stuffed dog at Costco. Whatever keeps her occupied while I shop!

She kept snuggling up to my fuzzy slipper boots.

Giant tricycle at Bauman's!

This is her favorite spot in the whole house. If I can't find her, I go straight to the bathroom. She climbs onto the toilet, then the counter, then parks it in the sink. She's only actually turned the water on once, which is good! But it's only a matter of time!

She also likes to park it on Maisey's art table and suck on her markers! Oh, the joys of a baby who likes to climb!

She discovered the fruit snack stash in the garage. I now keep the step stool folded up.

A mom will do anything to keep a baby happy while running errands.

She was a trooper all soccer season. She endured rain, wind, and coooold temps, oh and the stroller!

She likes to chase the neighbor cats around the cul-de-sac.

While I was getting ready, this little sneak moved the bathroom stool into the kitchen to reach her brother's pancake. She had already eaten two bananas, a pancake, and a bowlful of cheerios that morning. She was so proud to show me her accomplishment!

We mastered the art of the selfie! Miley loves to see herself on my phone and knows how to take a picture, so when we need to stay occupied (aka, soccer, basketball, church) we take pics!

Gage in October

These first two pictures sum up our month perfectly!
Lots of spills, broken things, coloring on things that shouldn't be colored on (aka, the van!).

And lots of tantrums.
This particular one was because his whip cream tower melted over his hot pancakes because he decided to play instead of eating it when it was ready. And mean old mom wouldn't make another whip cream tower for him.
He could barely peddle his bike. He stacked up every possible thing that would fit on that wagon.

Some nights I lay in his bed with him a cuddle him to remind me that I really do love him. This particular evening, in a five minute span, he spilled a whole gallon of milk on the kitchen floor, broke my necklace to pieces, and threw Shaun's wedding ring somewhere in our room. We later found it by tipping our treadmill upside down and shaking it out.

I helped at Gage's school and it amazes me how his preschool can convince kids that chores are fun. He would never rake up leaves at our house (or move bark dust like last month!).

I asked Gage to get dressed one day because we were going to grammy's school for lunch. He came out wearing nothing but his conductor's hat. Uh, buddy, we can't go to school like that!

Although Gage enjoyed bowling at Maisey's school's family bowling night, he much preferred watching the balls come up through the ball return.

This kid is seriously crazy! Or he just makes me crazy!

On laundry day, gage decided to make a bed on top of the washer and dryer because I wouldn't let him play inside of them.

Gage loves to help make things in the kitchen. This morning, he begged and begged me to make something. Since I couldn't wait two more days til Halloween to get my sugar fix, we decided to make cupcakes. It was a great way to spend our morning. Usually when I make something like that, I am giving them away, but not this time. So he got to do the sprinkles and he was thrilled!

This sums up a lot of Gage's soccer season. Masses of kids chasing the ball, and Gage not even watching where he is going. He definitely got a lot better as the season went on and his second to last game he scored a goal. He was sooooo excited. Then during his last game he scored 2 goals!

 High-five for mom!

That's what it should all be about -- kid's having fun!

Orange and black cupcakes for the Cougars last game!

Gage was very excited to receive a medal this year!

 The Cougars!
Gage and Bella aren't wearing their orange shirts because they played for the other team during the last half of their last game.

We moved straight from PeeWee Soccer to PeeWee Basketball! His first game was last week. During his first game a boy on the other team was going around and tackling kids. He tackled Gage and Gage got right back up and punched him. It was so embarrassing and we are definitely hoping for some major improvements during the season.

Shaun and I got finagled into coaching again. Shaun is coaching the first two weeks, then I will take over after that. Why can't we ever say NO to people?

Maisey in October

The night before school picture day, Maisey and I went shopping for a new get up!
She discovered the store Justice! Holy Sparkles!!!!!

She wanted those ear muffs soooo bad, but we settled for only the scarf.

The left pic is my first grade pic and the right is Maisey on the morning of her school pictures.
Mini Me?

We just got this digital image the other day. She is so cute!

This is how we find her most nights. She uses the light from her little clock to read in bed! I'm so glad she loves books!

Here is irony at it's finest!
Last Friday I hit and killed a cat while driving. I was talking to my sister when it happened and I just started screaming. It was sooo gross and I felt bad for whoever owned the cat. But what made the story a little bit funny is that afternoon Maisey brought home this "missing cat" poster that she made at school.I didn't tell her about my incident earlier in the day, but I had a good chuckle!

Maisey wrote a letter to her cousin. She is an awesome speller!

Maisey's school had a family bowling night last week. She was so excited to see all of her friends from school and show off her bowling skills.

Maisey's last soccer game isn't until this week but her practice is on Thursdays and since Halloween is on Thursday this week we had our last soccer practice last week. We had a parent/kid scrimmage and the kids had a ton of fun! I played with the team, and Shaun came to play on the parent side. Maisey scored a goal against Shaun and thought she was pretty cool!

The day we brought our real camera to soccer the sun was filtering through the clouds weird and was in like every picture. Anyway, Maisey is in the teal jacket.

It's been fun to watch her improve and become more aggressive as the season has gone on. At the beginning, she wouldn't challenge anyone with the ball. Now, she takes it away!

 Her professional pic

Although she's enjoyed soccer, photography is her true passion. She was thrilled when I handed my camera over to her to take pictures at Gage' game! And she took 87 of them!

October Randoms

This was all of the leftovers from our garage sale earlier in the month. I was getting it all ready to take to Goodwill! It consumed my family room!

We explored a park in our town that we had never been to before.

Gage liked digging for dinosaur fossils at the park.

Shaun brought me some voodoo doughnuts on a rough day! I ate 2.5 and then felt sick the rest of the night!

The kids enjoyed playing on our neighbor's power wheel.
We had Young Women in Excellence.
We have such a great group of Young Women. At the beginning of the year we talked about standing in holy places, so it was only fitting at the end of the year to talk about being not moved.
We served fancy milk and cookies!!

Our friends organize a haunted house date night every year. This year there were eight couples who got together for dinner and the planned haunted house. Well, that haunted house was so lame that some of us decided to hit up another one on our way home.

The six of us were the brave ones who stopped at a little farm town haunted house on the way home. And it was the best haunted house any of us had ever been to. It exceeded our expectations by far!

I love all of our faces in this pic!

I taught art in Maisey's class last week and brought my little assistant with me. This may be the last time she comes. She stepped in puffy paint then walked around the classroom with it on her shoe, she drank out of three kids' water bottles, she ripped name tags off of desks, and she ate a glue stick. Yeah, it's time to start pawning her off on art days!

For FHE yesterday, we played Halloween Bingo. We were going to decorate/carve pumpkins, but I was being a super lame mom and didn't want to deal with the mess. I mean, I did just throw a pumpkin party two days earlier!
