I've been WARNED!

I just returned home this evening from my week in LA, and my wonderful husband (who had the whole house spotless and his to-do list completed) kindly warned me that College Football starts this week.

It really is a sign that summer is OVER!

Bring on Fall!!!!!

P.S. Stay tuned for a million posts all the way back to Maisey's "Red Robin Birthday". We've been BUSY!!!!

We are like the Energizer Bunny. . .

. . . we just keep going and going and going!!!

We just returned home from Spokane less than 2 hours ago, and in less than 12 hours the kids and I are going on a very last minute trip to Cali to see my Grandpa!

Shaun survived his week in Mexico, better yet, I survived my week with the kids while Shaun was in Mexico.

I have SO much to update on! But I am trying to get laundry done and repack!

I just wish I had as much umph as the Energizer Bunny. I'm exhausted. The kids are exhausted. Hopefully 1 night of sleep in our own beds will be what we need to make it through the next week.

Until then.

Disappointing news for our anniversary trip

So. . . almost 6 years ago, Shaun and I met at the very first football game of the season. Almost a year later, we were married.

Since this year is our 5 year anniversary we decided to take a trip to Provo to attend the first football game of the season! There are so many restaurants that we are looking forward to eating at and so many stores that I am looking forward to shopping at! And the best part is ALL WITH OUT KIDS!!!!!

We've arranged for my mom to babysit, and we bought our plane tickets.

Here's the disappointing part:

The single game tickets went on sale yesterday. Well, we were at the beach all day yesterday so when we got home last night I went to purchase tickets online and they are all sold out. :( I called this morning and the lady on the phone confirmed that they really are. I almost started crying!

If anyone who reads this is getting an All-Sports Pass or season tickets and isn't going to be attending the game, we would happily purchase these tickets from you.

I know I can always try craigslist as it gets closer, but I don't want to chance it! I really NEED tickets!

HELP!!!!!

Adios! On our 5 yr. Anniversary

Today was our 5 year anniversary! The morning was spent driving my hubby to the airport at 3:00 am for his trip to Me-hi-co! He is going with his parents to pick up his little bro, Elder Grimmett, from the Tampico, Mexico mission. What a fun way for him to spend his day!

In honor of Ryan!
I can't believe it's already been 2 years.
We are all so proud of him!
-----------------------------------------------------------
Back to our anniversary:
Sometimes it feels like I just got married yesterday, but other times it feels like we've been married for 30 years. Haha!
We've been through a lot in these first 5 years -- becoming parents, losing my dad, graduating, buying a house, losing a job, having child #2, getting the best job ever, along with several other things!
I'm excited to see what the next 5, 10, and 50 years will bring. I'm also really excited to actually celebrate our anniversary together in a few weeks! We're going on a trip, sans kids! YAY!!!!!!!
Happy Anniversary Hun!
(Be safe and have fun!)

3 going on 13

My little Maisey is 3 years old today. Wow, what a fast 3 years it has been! We are so happy to have a self-proclaimed "big girl" in our family now!

On most days, Maisey is very extreme. She is either A)all smiles, totally cute, and crazy, or B)she is miss sass with the attitude of a little teenager. Not very often do we get a mixture of the two, or a "normal" girl. But we sure do love her fierce determination, her individuality, and her spunk!

This morning, I went into Maisey's room to get her up and said to her, "Happy Birthday!" and she said to me in a very grumpy voice, "You can't say that to me!" So I thought we were going to have one of the "B" days mentioned above. Then like 5 seconds later she said to me in like this cute mischievous way, "But you can sing Happy Birthday to me!" So at 7 am, in all my glory, I sang my little 3 three year old "Happy Birthday" and we've had a type "A" day since!

We did a little birthday interview with Maisey today. This is what she said:
Favorite food: Mac N' Cheese
Favorite treat: Chocolate Hearts
Favorite Restaurant: Panda Express
Favorite color: Purple

Favorite show: Max and Ruby and Dora
Favorite thing to play: On my swing set
Favorite place to shop: Target
Favorite clothes to wear: 3 year old birthday shirt!

Favorite Song: I Love To See The Temple, I Hope They Call Me On A Mention, I'm Trying to be Like Jesus, and Gagey Wagey Pudding and Pie
Favorite Book: The Gymnastics Book
Best Friend: Madi and Shayla
Favorite thing about having a birthday: Riding the carousel and eating cake
Maisey had a Pony Party this year and passed out tickets to her party to all of her friends.
This was the party, right in the middle of it all! We had it last weekend and it was so fun that my cousin and all of her family could be there!

Gagey-boy enjoyed shoving his face full of watermelon, hot dogs, and cheezit mix.

After dinner, all the kids got in line to go ride the carousel at Riverfront Park in Salem.

Maisey is right in front of the line and she is SO excited to get on!

She chose a BIG horse that went up and down. Apparently when you turn 3 you get a lot more brave, because she used to opt for the little covered wagon bench. She even told Grammy to let go of her during the middle of the ride.

Look at all of these crazy kids! It sure was fun!

Daddy and brother stayed back from the carousel to watch everyone's stuff! He doesn't look too sad huh? It's 'cause he had free reign on the watermelon, and no mommy to tell him NO MORE!

After the carousel, we headed back to the party spot for cake and gifts. Maisey picked out a chocolate pony cake! That's my girl!

She had lots of helpers blowing out the candles.

There was silence for about 3 minutes while the kids scarfed down their cake, then it was time for major chaos. . .

. . . opening gifts!

Maisey got lots of My Little Pony's and Barbies! This 3-year old's dream!
(Notice how all of the girls were hovering while she opened the barbies. I'm sure all of the boys were long gone to the playground!)

It was a perfect night to have a pony party! She is so lucky to have so many great friends!

Happy Birthday Maisey, Our 3 Year-old!

Family Festival

Last weekend, we headed to Riverfront Park in Salem for a Family Festival that my cousin was heading up! Fun was had by all!

Maisey was so brave when a MAN was painting her face. She ended up with a beautiful heart (that she smeared all over my shirt and her WHITE dress!)

Gagey-boy would make a great fire fighter!

Maisey was so excited to see what the inside of a bus looks like. She pretened like she was going to school and Gage pretended to drive!

Maisey wasn't too sure about this balloon lady

But she ended up with a purple "Pluto" (poodle)!

The had a Life Flight Helicopter come in and land in the middle of the park!

Then they let people inside. That was pretty neat to see how it all works!

Then we headed to the carousel because the night before Daddy and brother didn't get to ride. Gage SCREAMED when he had to get off!

And this little girl had a great time too!

Photo Shoot

My kids are at the age where they aren't lovin' pictures! But there mom still loves to take them! It's quite the dilemma! This particular day wasn't our best, but it will suffice.

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

I'm so excited!
And I just can't hide it!
I'm about to lose control
and I think I like it!
What should I make first?
Thanks to all who contributed to my wonderful birthday gift!
It's going to be a great day!

Texting While Driving -- Part 2

My sister texted me yesterday and said she saw this saying:

Honk if you love Jesus. . . text while driving if you want to meet him!

I just laughed. Is that bad? I seriously laughed about it for like 5 minutes!

Especially after a rather rude comment was made on my previous "Texting While Driving" post. And it was anonymous, might I add. Who does that?

Anyway, for the record -- I hardly ever text while driving. And if I do, I'm stopped at a stoplight or something!

I just hate that there is a law that tells me I can't, and I hate that someone out there is judging me and my opinions, And that I have to stick up for myself on my own blog.

That's all.

I'm over it. . . as of NOW!
